I have a dream, of human eyes gazing at the night sky from 100 trillion worlds, of a galaxy united by a common origin.
I believe that is the purpose of humanity, to spread, and take the whole of the galaxy to our needs. To hold ourselves against the void and survive.
We should assume that there is life out there, somewhere, and it is our obligation to go find it, and see how we stack up.
Humanity never prospers so much as when we are working together, competing against a common adversary. America went to the moon in a decade because "the reds" might beat us to it.
Imagine what we, as a species, might accomplish if we had an entire other world to compete with.
Come one SETI, the world is waiting.

It only took a little more than a year, but each of those links to the left, finally have a little content under every one of them.
Just added galleries under Media. They've got some of the best narcissistic art of myself I've received over the years.
(Somewhere around here I've got enough of RM to fill another gallery, but that will have to wait till next time.)

I've always liked this quote. What can a machine not do?
Paint a masterpiece? The machine that can do that is likely already sitting beside you, even a cheep printer that is given away a dime a dozen can reproduce a masterpiece in minutes that would astound someone from a even just a decade or two ago.
Not enough?
How about a painting from scratch? Any first year programming student could tell a machine to take the feed from a camera and filter it to printer, but that's more "What can a computer do?" than "what a machine can do".
What else can't a machine do?
Can a machine Love? The billion dollar sex-toy industry would tell you yes, yes a machine can.
What a machine can do is limited only by the imagination of humanity.
...and humanity, for all its troubles, has no shortage of ideas.
